Description: The Diabetes Expo, which will be held at the Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh on Sept. 12 from 9 AM to 4 PM, is free and open to the public with activities for people of all ages. For the many people who have diabetes or have loved ones with diabetes, this is a fun and informative event. In addition to the “Diabetes and No Health Insurance: Help for Hard Times” workshop, another workshop is titled “Diabetes and African-Americans: Denial, Depression and Dealing with the Day to Day of Diabetes” and will feature African-American medical experts and a person from the community who is living with diabetes. They will discuss the concerns raised in the workshop title and will be available to answer questions. Plus there will be all kinds of cooking demos, dancing and fitness activities and the Divabetic Zone is returning.
