April 6, 2015 Comments Off on Consumer Health Coalition helps people enroll in insurance programs
From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
Consumers have one last chance to obtain health care coverage for 2015 to avoid the fee when filing taxes in 2016. A special enrollment period began Sunday, March 15, and it will run until Thursday, April 30.
Although this is the last opportunity to enroll in health care coverage for 2015 for people who are eligible to enroll in a marketplace plan, it’s important for those who are uninsured and may qualify for medical assistance to know that they can get coverage at any time of the year. This includes uninsured children.
The Consumer Health Coalition works year-round to educate and provide free enrollment assistance to the uninsured to get them covered through the most appropriate health care coverage program, whether it is medical assistance, the health insurance marketplace or the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
