#SpeakOut4Health: Robert Wants to Live
Robert Paradise was unable to afford his own health insurance before the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
When he seriously cut his hand while working on a construction project, he knew it needed stitches. He was uninsured, so he avoided going to the doctor and instead asked a friend to help him close the wound with bandages.
Now Robert has health coverage through the ACA. As someone who works in construction, he can do his job better if he knows he’s protected in case of unexpected injuries.
“If something happens to me, I’ll be taken care of,” Robert said. “It’s one less thing to stress about.”
