Hospital Acquired Infections
Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) occur in patients as a result of the treatment and care they have received. MRSA is an example of a HAI that can have serious consequences on patients that develop its symptoms.
HAIs are not just an inconvenience. If a patient that develops a HAI, they are 5 times more likely to die and their care will cost about 6 times as much compared to the similar patients that never developed an infection.
