Human Library: Stories Bring Change!
In 2017 the CHC HUMAN LIBRARY PROJECT was launched. (See local press coverage). We created the HUMAN LIBRARY to allow individuals often marginalized due to mental health, poverty, sexual orientation and identity, and other labels, an opportunity to learn how to tell their personal stories with precision, impact and effect.
Human Library events are held throughout the region in settings large and small as an opportunity to:
1. Allow a person the opportunity to share one’s personal story and share their experience
2. Provide opportunities for persons in our shared community through listening to someone’s story to learn and grow in understanding.
3. Expand community connection
To date we’ve trained over 200 story tellers.
If you are interested in hosting a Human Library Training or having a Human Librarian Storyteller at your event, please email or 412-456-1877 x204
